Hastings

Hastings is a fishing port but also a popular seaside town. The main attractions here are the fishing port and the beachfront but also the old town. The name of the town was taken from the Battle of Hastings which occurred in 1066 and took place a few miles from the town.

Wandering the streets and alleyways of the old town is a delight and one can appreciate the architecture of the buildings here. George St in the old town is dotted with independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. It’s a great spot for shopping and a coffee stop.

The port and beach front gets busy in the summer months and a stroll along the promenade is a must do.
